Sea air uh
Same either way. Same with Ciara and sierra.
I’d pronounce it “See-era.” And no, it wouldn’t change with 2 Rs.
See-air-uh for both
I would pronounce it like Sierra and two or one r wouldn’t matter.
In Spanish it would matter but not in English.
Just like we pronounce Sierra Nevada
Like Sierra. The number of r’s would not change it.
Why would someone name a child after an Oldsmobile?
When reading a names off a chart or list, with a spelling or pronunciation we’re not familiar with, we tend to imagine two ways of pronouncing it before enunciating our defeat and, etiquette begs the person having their name butchered to kindly correct us.
As in
“ (seer-a)?
(see-air-uh)?
C: The name is pronounced see-air-uh.”
To be honest, I can see it being either. Many have opted unique pronunciations or spelling so this painful etiquette is how we ultimately would handle your kinda question lol
Key and Peele sketch where he hilariously
calls out names is a painfully common experience all around.
See-ra, versus sierra. But ask whoever has that name.
I’d guess it’s meant to be either:
– Kuh-Ear-Ah [Kira] (hard C)
– Sea-Air-Ah [Sierra] (soft C)
I would definitely switch to exclusively Sierra if there was a double R since it becomes obviously a special spelling of Sierra.
Either way would be see air uh to me.
Ciera, Cierra, Sierra… it’s all the same pronunciation.
The same as Sierra, which they are all re-spellings of. See-Air-Uh.
Keer-ah like Keira Knightly or Ciaran Hinds. But that’s because I’m familar with how they pronounce it across the pond. Americans will typically pronounce it sea-air-uh, like American musician Ciara.
SI-er-a. With two Rs, it would be si-ER-a.
I’m a child of the generation that pronounced it Sierra…as in “Oldsmobile Cutlass.” Thanks for THAT memory.
Keer-uh.
If it has two R’s, I’m adding some Spanish flair and rolling them.
That chick Russell Wilson is married to. Idk how 2 r’a make a difference
See-EH-rah.
I see people saying “air” and I’m wondering if Harry and hairy sound the same when they say it. For me they’re different.
Sierra like the DOS game publisher.
