Making something for my Dad for Father’s Day where I relate us to classic father-son combos. My go tos were; Iroh and Zuko, Batman and Nightwing, and Rick and Carl Grimes. Which of these would he understand(if any) and which ones could I add?

  1. 56 here, and I know all of those. But what kinds of things your Dad reads/watches/listens to will make a difference.

What about Vito & Michael Corleone, Mufasa and Simba, Clark and Rusty Griswold, Anakin & Luke Skywalker, Andy & Opie Taylor?

  2. >Batman and Nightwing, and Rick and Carl Grimes

I’m close to his age and know these. But idk if he is familiar with them? You would know best if he’s familiar with certain characters.

    Odin/Thor is another one.

  3. Other than Batman & Nightwing (and I’d suggest “Robin” as Nightwing came later), I (50) hadn’t ever heard of these. Go with some of the more broadly recognizable ones recommended here.

  4. Man I dunno duos are hard haha… I gave my father exactly one present that had subliminal meaning to us from my childhood… A really nice mable chess set (he taught me when I was 6) only for him to regift it back to me not understanding why I gave it to him in the first place. I hope you have better luck

  5. Baseball stars Ken Griffey and Ken Griffey Jr.?

If he watched “The Bowery Boys” movies, the star Leo Gorcey and his father Bernard Gorcey, who owned the sweet shop hangout, were a father-son combination that have the record for appearing in the most movies together.

  6. From music: Eddie and Wolfgang Van Halen, John and Jakob Lennon, John and Joseph Williams, Bob and Ziggy Marley, and John and Jason Bonham

  7. Daniel Larusso and Mr Miyagi should be right up his alley. Also Indiana Jones and Short around, Sloth and Chunk, Doc Brown and Marty McFly, while non of these are Father/Son, it’s a special bond nevertheless.
