Rap and rock. Older stuff millennials like me grew up on. Lots of Nas, Eminem, Slipknot and shit like that.
Mostly classical and soundtracks. Sometimes Yugoslavian 80s rock (all genres).
I like all kinds of music, but rock and metal are probably my favorite. Rammstein, System of a Down, The Offspring, Linkin Park, Metallica, Tool, Nirvana, Dream Theater, Primal Fear, Judas Priest, ACDC, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and many many more.
Metal, Synthwave, and Eurobeat. Along with some old skater punk stuff here and there, heaven is a halfpipe, Life Size Mirror, etc.
I listen to Heavy, Thrash, Death, Black Metal, Classic Rock, bad 80’s one hit wonders. 😂
So one minute I’m on Slayer, then Dead Kennedys, then Black Sabbath, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Drudkh, Mgla, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Carcass, Europe, Obituary, Icehouse, Taake.
Oldies or Caucasian cookout classics XD
I like Willy Nelson and Johnny Cash, maybe Bruce Springsteen next
Brand new
Country, mostly the older stuff
I have a wide taste in music and listen to most genres. I’d say the only major one I haven’t really explored is metal.
Nine Inch Nails, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Black Label Society, Judas Priest, Portishead, Thievery Corporation, Ministry, GNR, Metallica… and bunch of 90s bands like Oasis, Moist, Bush, etc.
Plus a handful of random pop songs and also… strange and interesting instrumental stuff usually from movie soundtrack/scores.
I’ll listen to anything, but lately I’ve discovered Two Feet. That’s good music to fuck to.
Symphonic metal and heavy metal
My name explains it all
Country, mostly neotraditional
Slayer. Only Slayer.
Mostly progressive rock, progressive metal, death metal, jazz fusion, dark ambient, and some classical.
DnB
metal & electronic though I’ll listen to anything. And I truly mean anything. Could probably find at least 1 song in any genre. I like despacito, I like pulse demon by merzbow (noise music), I like ram ranch, I like wheeler walker JR. There’s not a lot of music I truly hate, usually just shitty pop that gets played non-stop and anything from ed sheeran.
Everything but main two are metal and classic rock
chillstep
Right now, I’m listening to Neroli by Brian Eno.
My listening habits have been shifting away from guitar/bass/drum music to more ambient and classical over the last year or two.
Rock, jazz, swing, dance pop, europop, eurodance, big bass edm, trance and house (remixes, acid, jazz, and tropical). And synthwave if I want to look like a dork while driving my ’87 Firebird.
Right now I’m loving a new artist called Brakence.
I have a [last.fm profile](https://www.last.fm/user/FuckImAwesome) that tracks everything I listen to – I’d say my tastes are inclined towards punk and metal, but not specifically either one and kind of somewhere in-between.
I’ve always defined my kind of music as “good music”, but somewhat as a joke because music taste is subjective. I’ll dapple in a few other genre’s like some off beat pop (the -core kinda stuff if you get what I’m saying) I’ve also tried to get into house music and I’ve found some okay stuff there, and phonk but a lot of that sounds like noise to me. I also like some ambient stuff, it my main genres are more of what you might expect: rock, grunge, alt rock, and a bit of rap mostly.
Im not exactly sure what you are looking for, but if you like punk and rock then you should give grunge a try, it’s a very similar offshoot of rock, but it still develops a unique sound, especially with bands like Pearljam, Soundgarden, but if you want to escape the lyrical problems with punk then I would suggest Foo Fighters, they are an awesome band that have a bit of a lighter hearted sound with some of their discography.
Best of luck to you.
Nowdays, mostly Grunge. A lot of Alice in Chains and Stone Temple Pilots. I’m also a big pop-punk fan, so I love bands like Blink-182 and Sum 41.
House, dnb, techno, dubstep, funk, classic rock, rock n roll, jazz, metal, punk, country
Why anyone would limit themselves to only 2 or 3 genres is beyond me.
While I do listen to multiple genres, usually I listen to hip-hop/rap 9 times out of 10 nowadays. Main guys being Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, Lupe Fiasco, JID, etc. The more lyrical guys usually.
I also tend to listen to older guys like Jay Z, Nas, old school Eminem, Outkast, Black Star, 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G, etc.
And then outside of that I listen to some guys who are more underground like Marlowe, Ka, Blu & Exile, Isaiah Rashad, Lance Skiiiwalker, MF DOOM (RIP), Kota the Friend, and more along those lines.
Then to wrap it all up I listen to a bunch of Lofi hiphop which is just really smooth and soothing instrumental beats. Most people usually listen to them as background music but I fucking love it.
I like anything thing that makes my foot tap, body move, or mind daydream. Almost anything. But i tend to lean more towards electronica, prog metal, industrial, and psychedelic. Anything complex with distinct beat and rhythm will catch my ear.
Confident and solid makes me think of Tool. Very very high production value. Very calculated. Intriguing rhythms. Heavy sound. The lyrics are always a little odd/cerebral, but the vocals are impressive. Sometimes a little too dark for people but I love it. Fear Innoculum is one of my favorite tracks lately.
Porcupine Tree, Younger Brother, Phutureprimitive, OSI, Celldweller, and Shpongle are some of my favs groups I cannot get enough of.
The only music I don’t usually dabble in is rap, country, and emo/rock music
Classic country, blues guitar, delta blues.
I recommend jazz. There is a wide variety of different kinds of jazz, each with it’s unique aspects.
A bit of nearly every genre, really, though I love power metal in particular.
My only foray into hip-hop is a chap called Professor Elemental.
Mostly electronic, sometimes some rock and pop
Pretty much only different forms of metal. At the moment I listen to different forms of black metal. Other genres generally just do not appeal to me.
as a poet, I’d say hip-hop & rap music. simply put
Literally everything. Rock, metal, blues, psychedelic, country, jazz, etc. Recently been getting more into hip-hop, however I tend to only enjoy the dark memphis shit.
Stoner Metal.
Bebop jazz (and its derivatives), big band music, late 19th century/early 20th century piano music, and Steely Dan.
I like lots of music, but if I listen to it myself, it’s usually one of these genres recently, with one band as examples:
Funk (vulfpeck), desert rock/stoner rock (colour haze, elder), Japanese… Whatever you’d classify it as (necry talkie), Japanese anime/otaku music (nanahira), jazz classics (needs no explanation), and… Well, no idea what you’d call it (consider the source, trioscapes or similar)
Basically, all over the place.
Hip Hop, R&B and Reggae.
