Does anyone have this type of this PIL? They do everything for their son and this prevents their son from becoming a man. They try to control and intervene in every aspects of our life. We’re financially unstable so we have to depend on them but this doesn’t mean they can live our life. I was so tired so I called it quit with their presence. Of course my husband and themselves convinced me to stay so I decided to give it another shot. Now my father in law throws a tantrum by not coming over my house to see the kids and avoid celebrating Christmas with us. I mean that’s fine by me but I know he’s playing this trick on my husband. What would you do if you were me? Should I just ignore him and act like nothing’s wrong?

  1. If you financially depend on your in laws then they have a right to enforce certain rules. It’s like living in your parents house: their house, their rules. You guys don’t have to depend on his parents. That’s a
    choice.

And no we would never accept money or financial help from our in laws (my parents or his) because it always comes with strings attached, so our in laws are not like that.
