I can get numbers just fine, but never get a text back

I keep running into this frustrating circumstance. I’ll have a great conversation with someone in person, express interest, they’ll give me their number, and then when I send a text I never get a text back. Or maybe I do get a text back, we text for a while, but it never results in us actually meeting up for a date. The latter is even more frustrating, because it implies that I did something wrong somewhere in the process and that’s why she lost interest. I’d say that probably 1 in 10 numbers I get actually lead anywhere. Which makes me feel like I need to do it even more to get any results
