I’m cooking a big Christmas dinner for friends in a couple of days. I want to make a big effort, but I also want to streamline oven space and try and reduce the amount of stress. Cooking the yorkies a few hours before to reheat just before serving seems like a good idea but feels sacrilege. Is this a done thing, or am I mad?

Still edible but if you have the choice, no. When they’re reheated they go a bit ….slipper like
Reheat the roasties while cooking the puds. They will survive better from a reheat.
They would be about the last thing I would consider reheating
We precook and freeze ours, they end up exactly the same so long as you use a decently hot oven to reheat.
Aunt Bessie’s have made a multi-million pound business out of pre-cooking Yorkies.
Yay, but you could always turn it into a dessert
Yeah.
Mine are gluten free anyway so they’re shit regardless.
Yes but not in a microwave, they turn to mush. I cook whole trays at a time and freeze down the leftovers so only have to do Yorkshires every other roast, they just need 5 mins to reheat in the oven. Keep an eye on them though. No different to how Aunt Bessie’s work.
Yes. I make a batch up and keep them in the freezer. Just pop them in the oven while you’re dishing up the dinner and they’ll be done 👍🏻
My wife will make the Yorkshire puddings the day before, cool and then reheat – we also do roast potatoes, Dauphinoise potatoes similarly.
Not enough time or space for everything for everyone on the day.
For Xmas dinner I let Aunt Bessie or Lord Sainsbury do the Yorkies.
Nay lad!
