I’m trying to get my little brother into chess, rubik’s cubes, game development, stuff that i do etc, but he doesn’t understand that he can become good at them too with enough practice. He says I’m too good at that stuff and that I’m just naturally smart and he’ll never be able to do it. Obviously he thinks too much of me and I want him to believe in himself more and put effort into learning things that are either fun or will prove useful down the line.

Im experiencing a similar problem with a friend of mine who I’m trying to get out of her shell. She’s pretty shy and a bit insecure when it comes to singing and playing her guitar around me even though she’s amazing, and I want her to be more comfortable sharing that part of herself around me.

Do you have any tips on how I can be more relatable or vulerable and help my brother and/or friend out?
