I’m 90% going to delete most of my social media accounts. Is it a red flag for a guy not to have social media, it’s overrated I think and causes so many issues?

  1. It’s a green flag to not have social media, imo. I’m a woman, and it’s kind of refreshing when a guy doesn’t have social media. Or isn’t always on it.

    You do what makes you happy. And do it for you; if a woman doesn’t want to date you because you’re not on social media, then that’s her loss or her issue.

  2. It’s not a flag, as long as you plan to meet women through your friends/real life people you know.

  3. I(25f) don’t think so, Reddit is the only social media I have and it doesn’t even really feel like social media lol. I have some friends that are social media obsessed and so are their partners, but I’m sure you can find someone who will have that in common with you, if you choose to delete it. Or if they have social media and enjoy it, they can continue to without you being a part of it.

  4. Doubt it would be a red flag. I am in 3 apps myself but hardly post on them. Just nee here. The other two is more staying connected with family back home. Do what you are happy with. 👍🏼

  5. I’m a hypocrite because i deleted mine BUT if a guy tells me he doesn’t have socials i take it as he is married with kids and his socials depict his families happy little home life

  7. Honestly it depends on your age. I’d be a little concerned as a gen z, especially if I’m going on a blind date through apps and such. But it’s understandable if an older millennial doesn’t have one.

  8. Believe it or not, there actually was a time when social media didn’t exist. People had to meet and greet in person. They would go to church, volunteer, have parties, plan adventures, learn new skills, enjoy a hobby with others, take classes.

  9. Not having social media itself isn’t a red flag I couldn’t care less if it was a guy I knew or knew of through mutual friends. The only thing would be on dating apps if it was someone I didn’t know I’d be worried about being catfished because I couldn’t confirm anything about them.

  10. No it doesn’t bother me, in fact all the men I liked had little to no social media. It’s great because if we break up I can’t stalk their socials

  12. I deleted all of my social media except for this year’s ago. Started this a year ago for a specific thread.

  13. My new boyfriend has no other social media besides Snapchat and LinkedIn, and I’m totally fine with it!

  14. Doesn’t bother me. I have no social media and would prefer it. You should have some sort of online presence; employment, LinkedIn, etc. No online presence whatsoever would make me think you have something to hide

  15. It’s not a red flag by itself. If the guy doesn’t have social media , but also doesn’t want to video chat or sent you pictures, then it may be a red flag

  18. It doesn’t matter if you do or don’t. I don’t search the guys on social media. Its seem weird and creepy.

  20. For me personally it’s not a red flag if they don’t …. However I usually don’t bother with them if they don’t because I like to see photos and I prefer typing on my laptop – compared to typing on my phone and lots of those social media apps allow for that.

  21. I love it when a guy doesn’t have social media. Some guys are so obsessed with social media and it’s a turn off in a way.

  23. It’s a green flag. And a sign you are a healthy person with other real life priorities.

  24. The only social media I have is Instagram. Even then, I don’t even post that much on it. It has to be something pretty big or important to post.

    But no Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok, anything else. Not even dating apps.

    I wouldn’t mind meeting a girl who didn’t have a lot of social media presence, but personally it’s not a deal breaker.

  26. Heck. I get red flagged just for not drinking or smoking!!! It blows their mind when they hear I don’t do social media!!! 😱😅🤣🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️
