The look I got is wearing timberlands, but I still like to let my pants sit on top. Still wear a hoodie or a flannel and I’d still wear band shirts.

Saw an article that said men going into their 30s should consider wearing suits and looking sharp.

  1. yes, 45M, cargo pants and cargo shorts — they’re too practical not to — with graphic tees containing something artistic or that i find mildly humorous*. i live in relatively warm southern California; so this is the “uniform” most of the time.

*i don’t wear any graphic tee with something truly hilarious or controversial because i don’t want to be engaged in that much conversation about it.

  2. “Articles” will say all manner of things. Live your life how you want, adjusting for circumstances of course. Like your look? No problem. Causing problems with work / dates / whatever? Make some changes. I don’t know anyone who wears suits “causally”, but everyone’s different.

  4. When I see people in their 30s and up wearing suits in their free time, I think they are playing dress up to be a big boy. It really looks ridiculous to me.

I just wear what I think looks ok and fits well. some days I even wear pajamas out because why the hell should I spend my life caring about strangers’ opinions of me. Suit wearers seem so insecure, but that’s my opinion

  5. I do..except at work, where I have to wear scrubs. T-shirts and jeans/shorts. Polo when I need. Shoes or flip-flops.

    Suits? Only on certain occasions.

  6. Maybe not suits, but from what you described you’re definitely getting into “hello fellow kids” territory. My default is a well-fitting tee or button down, clean/ironed jeans, and good looking sneakers that aren’t overstated. Then a watch and my wedding ring.

When I’m at home I wear whatever I want.

  7. Well, I don’t wear exactly what I want, because if I did that I’d probably be that weird dude seen walking naked down the street. Alas, laws and such. That said….

My “me” time wear is typically jeans and a T-shirt.

My work attire is jeans and a polo shirt.

I only wear suits for special occasions (call it 1-2X a year). And that’s still more often than I’d like to wear ’em.

  8. I invest in quality of certain items..jackets, shoes, etc..I’m not trying to look like a teenager and not to mention a sense of dignity if that makes sense
