**EDIT: To clarify, I’m not worried about it. I’m just curious why some people get them and others don’t. I’m asking “what’s the science behind this?”**

I am 24 and randomly get erections throughout the day. I’m sure it’s normal and I’m not worried about it.

I’m curious as to why it happens to some people and not to everyone. I’m sure lots of boys my age are in my camp. And lots of boys grew out of it. Do we know the science behind why there’s a difference?

When you’re younger, all the hormones are new and boys have random erections all the time for reasons that they can’t explain because their body doesn’t know how to handle the hormones.

By 24, I think a lot of people have gotten used to the hormones and they are conditioned to stimulate themselves. They might masturbate or have sex everyday and their body waits for that to send blood to the penis. Also when sleeping. That’s not me though.

I know how to stimulate myself too and I have sex/masturbate, but that doesn’t stop my from having random erections. Today, I was talking to someone on the phone, it was not even a sexual call, she said the word “improve” and it suddenly made me hard.
