I’m trying to get a general sense of what to expect for that milestone in life. I hear it can be expensive so wondering how to best prepare.

  1. Mine cost total 5k including 2 rings for wifey and a professional photographer and studio and outside time.

But I did this in Taiwan so the cost is very different than US or anywhere else.

I rented out a buffet for the wedding so it was just how much per guest and had 130 people attend.

But if you want to get more accurate pricing, probably state where you’re at cause even California and Wyoming the prices will be drastically different.

  2. Half of everything you own now and then at least 17% of your gross for up to another 21 years.

  3. $30k for a small wedding in San Fran 16 years ago. Elope and use the $$$ for a home down payment.

  4. $20k almost 20 years ago. Maybe 150 people. Open bar and good food were the biggest expenses. I think that was basically half of it. Then venue. Didn’t spend much on decorations, invitations, or flowers. Photographer and DJ friends who did it cheap.

  5. It varies drastically, every decision has the potential to be hundreds – thousands of dollars different depending on what you decide, and also how many guests you’re planning to have is a major factor.

If you wanna get a big fancy venue and invite 100 people and have fancy food catered with an open bar and hire a good band and reserve a block of rooms at a resort for your guests, you could be looking at $20,000+ easily

if you wanna rent an Air BNB on the beach, get some kegs, hire a food truck, a DJ, and invite 20 guests, could maybe get away spending $1000

  6. $550. We had a private wedding with just us and our kids. It included a really nice setting in the country and wedding photos that were amazing. We had zero guests, which was perfect!

  7. Around 20k FIM but it was back in the late eighties. In today’s money, that’d be about 5800€.

  8. $30 fijian. Plus rum. For an idyllic beach wedding.
I don’t include the air tickets as we weren’t planning on a wedding, just a trip. And the hotel was free.

  9. I’m a girl but maybe 150 because we hired the justice and bought pie then we went out to eat lol

The food was the most expensive

  10. Whatever the county charged for the marriage license, then a lot more over the years.

  11. My weddings cost a license, a dress and a (off the peg) suit. I knew the priest as a friend and he wouldn’t take payment for doing the business.

My children’s weddings cost tens of thousands.

It depends what you (plural you) want.

  12. 18k for a modest road side church and lodging rental. Made about 2k back on gifts and such. Wife shopped around she knows where to find deals. 20 attendent.

  13. 43K, 55/56K, 28K, Just under 100K, 62K

If I ever get married again it’s going to stay under 5K, which should be just enough to pay for my cremation.

  14. It depends.

My wedding cost about €3500, we celebrated in our own garden with about 20-30 guests and a catering service. The value of the gifts and presents from the guests nearly covered that expense.

However my colleague of Turkish descent had to invite all of her 300+ friends and relatives, otherwise she’d have been called a cheapskate in her community.

  15. Free , my buddy got ordained online somehow 🤣🤣🤣 did all the licensing by the book so it would be legal….!

  16. Married in the courthouse and will be celebrating 10 years of marriage I January. 4 kids too.

Don’t need a big fancy wedding if you actually love each other
