What gadget made your live easier?

  1. Sex toys. Look em up. They make your job way easier. You shouldn’t be threatened by sex toys. They do things you can’t. They are light work… and fun.

    Your partner will appreciate it.

  2. Coffee mug warmer. I’m amazed at how happy I am drinking my mug of coffee at a leisurely pace knowing it is still going to be hot.

  3. Sharpening stones for my knives. Cost 20€ or something and I can efficiently chop all the fruits and veggies I need.

  4. Trusty swiss army knife (victrinox police in my case), its got a pretty much all I need haha

  5. My sous vide. It’s fantastic, if you do a lot of cooking. It’s a godsend if you’re also a nerd who likes to poke and tinker.

Wanna thaw something fast? If it’s frozen in a sealed bag, toss it in the bath, set to whatever the temp is, hit it, and it’s as fast as the microwave without overheat.

You can cook anything as perfectly as you can imagine it to be with minimal pain. Just pre-plan it if you want a “traditional” finish to the meal, like some way to sear or crisp it if so desired.

You can do some wild stuff too, you can make chuck that outperforms ribeye in *every imaginable way*. Turkey that relatives will ask for over a prime rib roast.

You will **never** fail to temper chocolate again. Cake shells that crack like glass, if you’re into baking.

Grow bog-standard table salt into big, beautiful, flaky, light, *crisp* finishing flakes that put fleur de sel to shame.

You can poach eggs in their shells, so you just crack it into a bit of boiling water for 30s to set its skin and then boom, instant poached egg.

Hell, some melting salts and milk, and you can make cheese that puts Velveeta to shame out of anything you like.

Do funky extractions. Use sugar, lemon peels, and lavender with the minimum required water and some citric acid, make a premade syrup to make a lavender lemonade on demand.

Any poaching recipe you can pre-load the liquid cooking vessel into a bag, add your protein, and then sous vide for it to be *perfect.*
