hi! as from the title, I have my crush’s number from a website he and his friend used to run a few months back (around March-April) and was always too shy to text him, even though he won’t know who I am. Fast forward to now, and I would like to make a move. I’ve already said merry Xmas to him (I haven’t checked for his response as I’m too scared), but how should I go forward? If he asks who I am, should I tell him straight away or should I talk/get to know him well before I reveal who I am? He’s quite shy and it’s always a bit awkward when we talk (he’s from a boys only school, I’m from a girls only school), even though I’ve known him for 3 years as we are in an orchestra together.

Tell him who you are. Why waste time? Tell him how you found his number and that you would like to get to know him a little bit better. see where that goes.
Don’t do it – idk just never worked out like that for me. Can’t you talk to him normally irl?
Tell him, I wouldn’t bother continue a conversation with someone who didn’t identify themselves, it’s weird.
