As a straight male, how do you know if your feminine and masculine traits are not balanced?

There is a student at my school that was misinterpreted as a homosexual and even one of our teachers thought he was gay. I found his vibe kinda feminine too but, I am not sure how to explain it clearly. Anyways, I want to avoid the same mistake.
