While D- and E-segment sedans/wagons aren’t very popular in Europe in general, Poles can’t live without used import Audis and BMWs of that kind – for example, in 2021 the Audi A4 was [the most popular used import car](https://motofakty.pl/import-aut-2021-te-modele-sprowadzano-do-polski-najchetniej/ar/c4-16117307), and its BMW rival was not too far behind at #4. The bigger models weren’t too far behind, with the A6 at #10 and the 5-Series at #13, and Audi also had another success in the form of the A3 being #5.

And somehow Mercedes-Benz has failed to reach this level of popularity, not having a single model in the entire Top 20.

  1. Electrical cars.. Norway has been kind of pioneering it with great subsidies for electrical cars.. like extemption of VAT etc.. (the VAT is though about to be introduced now when many have bought their electric cars)..Giving the impression that norway is the kind of country were each persons drive a Tesla. Though many types of electrical cars are popular nowadays, it’s the Tesla that has manifestested its position. As far back as 2012.. norwegian prouded itself being the uppermost nation on Tesla in Europe.. and that norwegians were the first to get the new models of Teslas when they arrived in europe etc..

Though if you’re into the historically corner.. Volvo 240 (including its predecessor) is probably the most sold car of all time in Norway.

  2. Subaru, specifically the Outback. Not the best selling car on the market but always does reasonably well. Afaik Estonia is the only European country where Subaru has a market share of over 2%. In Europe, Subaru’s market share is only 0.2% and it gets outsold by niche brands like Lancia or Smart.

  3. If you go by registrations, Golf still wins by a large margin.

  4. Both Norway and Finland have the same case as Poland, large family cars were much more popular here than in most other major European countries. Especially the more expensive German ones are more often than not second hand imports from Germany or Sweden.

  5. They were more common a few years ago, but we have a lot of what we call comercial cars. It’s the literal translation.
They are just versions of normal cars, like a VW golf, but instead of 5 seats, they have just the two in the front and right behind them a separation made of metal. The space where the rear seats would go, is just open forming a big trunk.
They are supposed to be used by companies, hence the name “comercial” but since they are cheaper to buy they became very popular.

  6. Convertibles in the UK. We used to buy about 50% of all convertibles sold in the EU. Back when we were in it. But that’s started to die off. Now every new car seems to be a 4×4. Especially in London and urban areas.
