The doctor listened to my concerns and was extremely helpful. It seems she didn’t want to just dismiss it and wanted to try something* while she ordered other blood tests. I dont have clinical depression, anxiety, or ADHD. She prescribed Wellbutrin solely for my sex drive issue. In the meantime we’re checking my thyroid levels. Anyone have a similar experience? Has anyone tried Wellbutrin solely for sex drive? I’m kind of nervous about it but also willing to try anything.

As someone who is on Wellbutrin for anxiety, I couldn’t tell you how it affected my drive. But medication affects everyone differently, as I get asked every time I list my medications when my last episode was because I take Lamictal for BPD but it’s primarily for vertigo.
I’m on Wellbutrin for ADHD and the main effect on my sex drive has been mitigating some of the distractions/anxiety that might have taken away from it. Seems like a pretty off label use so she may just be trying something out that’s been speculated about elsewhere.
I was on Wellbutrin for anxiety and depression, in my experience a lower sex drive was a thing. I personally had to get off of it bc it made me prone to anger and frustration. If you start it, just make sure to take note of your mental health along with other side effects. I always suggest journaling when starting new meds.
