I tend to control myself a lot when faced with annoying or rude people. But I think I am not as good as other people at doing this because eventually I snap and just have a go at whoever was being rude. The funny thing is people tell me that I am very calm and cant imagine me getting angry. It’s because I have a calm sounding voice.

How can I stop myself snapping? I don’t want to ever lose my temper.

The problem is I live with a difficult older person who keeps shouting at everyone for many hours and it causes stress to build up. Leaving them isn’t an option since they rely on me to get things done.

  1. Try to redirect all that anger or frustration somewhere else. Like intense workout, sports, outdoors, music. I love old people but sometimes they can be really difficult indeed.

Also try to find the root of what triggers you, like the moment you feel it building up… right at that moment, take a deep breath like you never did before and ask yourself what triggered so much at that moment ? Once you find it, you can control it.

Third, try to communicate with the people who frustrate you, hopefully they’ll understand ! Best of luck and take care ! 🙂
