My Xbox.
Edit: i just realized this is on ask men. My bad.
a car
Condoms.
Saved me from 18 years of child support.
My motorbike
New car battery. Absolute necessity
A good bed and good shoes are essential. If your not in one your in the other.
Food
Manscaper
Someone mentioned a good bed and I agree. I spent almost 2k on a bed and adjustable frame.
My guitar.
My dog, a Costco membership, my Honda Fit, and protein powder.
My house. It’s increased in value a lot.
A few weeks after 9/11 I spent most of my life savings on airline stocks. Let’s just say I did pretty good.
Good quality hybrid mattress
Built my PC right before Covid hit and GPU prices spiked.
My ipod classic, I still use it a lot
a custom gaming pc.
Comfortable, good quality underwear. Mine are like $25 a pair for four but they never ride up and my thick thighs don’t rub against each other.
A robot vacuum cleaner.
The amount of hours saved not vacuuming is amazing.
Even under my bed is dust free
Amazon Kindle, 10 years ago. That thing is working perfectly without any battery issues after 10k hours of use. Best 130$ I ever spend.
Cast iron pan
Divorce.
A rice cooker. I basically don’t need anything else to cook now
High quality hand tools (Craftsman). I’ll buy cheap (Harbor Freight) power tools for something I may only do once, then if they die from use I replace them with brand name (had good luck with DeWalt, personally.) But having a dependable set of hand tools will save you time, money, and much frustration in the long run.
A home. Glad to no have to pay rent to someone else.
Bidet
Vehicle full range adaptive cruise control and active lane keep assist. I drive a lot for work and do not get driving fatigue anymore. These tools basically make the car navigate itself on the highway and in bumper to bumper traffic.
Expensive headphones. Got some Sony WH-XM3s and it’s changed the game. Comfortable, great sound and cuts out all the noise around me. Can’t imagine life without them now!
My Hyundai and then a Kia – I’m an entitled prick and self-proclaimed ‘car guy’ for insight however I threw my shallow ideals to the wind and absolutely have had no regrets leveraging both of these brands. The value-to-dollar ratio is incredible, a ten year freaking warranty, and (at least in my experience) a tremendous feature set.

I bought a Sonata in ’13, super happy perhaps with the exception of the styling. I turned it in in ’18 and got a full size Kia (Cadenza) which has been ultra-reliable and even in 2022 has features that many new cars still don’t have at the price point. I’ve been desperately window-shopping for a comparable replacement for a couple years with no luck. I definitely recommend the brand(s) (they’re basically the same company btw).
Fixing my teeth, cost me all up probly 10-12k.
In Aus, dental isn’t covered under Medicare and my private insurance covered fuck all.
Had a heap of fillings, 1 extraction, 2 root canals and all 4 wisdom teeth removed…but now I can have hot and cold anything no worries, and my breath is much better aswell.
Chickens. As someone with a bit of land I was able to give in to my wife’s request for some chickens and it’s turned out a lot better than I imagined.
A 60-gallon air compressor. Makes removing tire for brake jobs easy, fixing flats and I’ve painted 3 cars now.
Ninja air fryer
My wife’s engagement ring, just to sound really sappy. She choose to wear her late grandmother’s wedding band, which was 18 k gold, and of which the jewellerr told us “it won’t last, 18 k is too soft” in the worst sales pitch in recorded history. It had lasted her grandmother almost 50 years, and is still going strong after almost 45 years on my wife’s finger. So is the engagement ring, btw.
A good vacuum cleaner. Not ear splittingly loud. Lightweight. As good now as first bought.
Used to be my most hated chore. Now it’s one of the easiest/quickest
Burger.
Even if it is a bad burger I do not regret buying, because it gives me more information about when and where to not buy burger. This only increase my knowledge improves my ability to strategically buy burger in the the future.
Never regret burger.
A Stihl Chainsaw. I used the ever loving shit out of it whenever I can, and was also able to cut our vehicles out after trees fell in our driveway during the winter storms trapping us from leaving with a new infant.
