  1. Winning the World Series is kind of the historical classic even though baseball has been waning in popularity over the last many years.

  2. Probably Superbowl Champion, there have been fewer of them and winning an individual football game in the league is one of the hardest things to do in team sports. Making it through the playoffs is brutal.

    World Series is probably next.

Lord Stanley’s Cup is the most sought after *Trophy.*

Dark Horse is probably The Masters in golf. Fewer people think about it, but its a big deal.

  3. Super Bowl. It’s the only North American sports league, to my knowledge, that has a single game decide the championship. Every other league uses a series format.

  4. the MLB championship WAS the biggest for a long time and has a long history, but the failing popularity with the MLB the world series doesn’t seem as important as it was 50 years ago.

the Stanley Cup and also has a long history, but the trophy is more revered than the team holding it. the NHL fans are fanatical about the cup, but is is a small fan base to begin with.

the Super Bowl champion is more modern, but currently, the most recognized championship. the NFL is a master of marketing and winners will be in every other commercial on TV for ages.

the Indy-500 is more niche and not quite a “championship”, but is distinctly American and well known internationally as a major motorsports spectacle. it is one leg of the motorsports triple crown along with Monaco GP and the 24 hours of LeMans. the reverence for tradition at the race is well known.

the Masters for golf and US Open for tennis are both up there as well, but also niche, people will watch…. and forget who won a month later.

  5. Nathan Hot Dog Eating Championship is very popular and has a lot of American pageantry
