  1. Currently a teacher. Hoping to pick up some extra work this week on supply before I start a new job in the civil service. Its a better pension but a slight pay cut and I have mixed feelings.

  2. I’m contemplating outdoor leadership as a side gig, but mainly just for enjoyment.

Makes a change from software engineering.

  3. I’m planning on moving jobs sometime soon and definitely thinking about doing a broad search rather than just my industry.

  4. Same job but with a competitor at a significant increase in base salary! Current company massively undervalue the role.

  5. Planning on a small pivot from data science to data engineering. I think the DE job market will be stronger over the next couple years and it still somewhat flies under the radar compared to DS. More roles and less saturated job market.

  6. Yes, changed from funeral Director to purely admin based role, still in funeral industry but for local authority, better salary and hours, I miss working with families but hoping to start a family this year and the benefits with the new role are fantastic.

  7. Currently working for a care company in a role that I’ve essentially made up (I do tech support, organise maintenance, bit of recruitment, HR and health and safety) but the directors are planning on selling the company this year.

The bad news is, my job role is not likely to be required post sale but it means I may receive some form of redundancy if they aren’t able to offer me a similar role. It’s not something I am banking on though and keeping an eye out for jobs.

So far the only ones that jump out at me are tech support help desk roles so will probably do something along those lines when the time comes.

  8. I’d like to, currently unemployed and desperate not to go back to a job sitting at a computer.

  9. Switching to training as a solicitor. After ten years of self-employment I’m looking forward to being employed for a change!

Definitely nervous about starting but should be an exciting change.

  10. I’d rather not say but it’s public facing. There is another job I apposed for which is adult training in the DWP. If I got that I’d be made up but I don’t find out until next week if I have the interview or not.

The second job pays like twice as much as the first.
