Let’s say you go out with friends, first eat something, then go to the movies, then have a few drinks at the pub or a club, then Uber home.

  1. Dinner at Applebee’s, $12. We would probably do almost anything over a movie, probably about $6/person whatever we did (fishing, bonfire, amateur racing, hiking, etc), then we get doubles at our bar for $6 each, so a “couple drinks” would run us $12 a person. Adds up to about $30 for your definition of a night out. but let’s be real, in WI we probably have 7 to 12 mixers at the bar and play bar dice/gambling machines/juteboxes, eat at home and skip everything else you listed so were talking the $75-$100 territory.

  2. So let’s say good is about $20, movie ticket is about $13, beers out are gonna run me $9ish and let’s say I have four of them, plus tip runs me to $42, the Uber home is gonna be $20 or so, adds up to about $95. Assuming I didn’t get any snacks at the movie, didn’t pay for parking or an Uber to get there, etc.

  3. how much would i spend? probably not much. my ideal evening out would be a walk in the park or along the river, get a coffee or icecream while out, sit and read or just enjoy the vibes listening to music, explore a bit. $0-$10?

how much would somebody spend doing the things you’re specifically referring to? a ton. estimating food ~$15 plus tip, movie ~$15, i have no idea how much drinks cost because i do not drink but i’ll guess perhaps $8-10 each so maybe for 3 drinks $30 plus tip, and uber both ways around $30 plus tip. so about $100 probably.

  4. Depends on what and who.

Dinner with friends? $100 per person easily.

    Movie and light dinner? $50.

  5. Well I’d probably have a real hard time getting an Uber to drive me the hour home from the closest bar that’s open past 10pm.

  6. I’d eat at Germaine’s for about $20 (expensive but totally worth it), movie would be “free” because we have the movie pass thing, after the movie we would drive home and bike to the bar (probably barcade), spend around $30 on drinks (I usually only have 2-3 $7 wells but will buy drinks/shots for others) and bike home.

  7. $12 movie, $10-15 dinner, $14-20 for 2 beers, depending on the bar. Will likely drive home instead of Uber/Lyft.

  8. Movies and Uber are expensive now

Food, we would probably eat somewhere with $18 entrees

Beers, craft beer $8 each, at most I would drink three. $24

Uber is roughly $30 from downtown, but we’re transit oriented people and live near transit.

I personally do not go to the movies , I think tickets are $18 each now. I don’t go to clubs ever.

Between $75-$100 for dinner, beers, Uber and a movie.

  9. I am super frugal and boring. Invite everyone to my place, make lentil soup ($5?), watch a movie on Netflix or PrimeVideo (share an account with my dad), serve the tea I got for free, and tell everyone to walk home.

  10. IF we’re ubering between all of these locations it’d get expensive real quick. I can only think of one area in Indianapolis where you could do this all within walking distance.

So a night out at Bottleworks in downtown Indy.

$20 on food hall food, but very easy to spend more, and that’s assuming you’re drinking water

$9-10 per beer, but going to be more if you’re doing cocktails

    Saturday night $15 movie ticket

probably going to be like a $40-50 Uber ride home, + $8-10 for a tip

    So we’re looking at $100+
