Hi,
I (M23) am currently starting an internship lasting a few months in a new city, away from where my parents and school are. I have no social connection whatsoever here, no friends no nothing.
On my day to day work I share my office with one other guy who is a few years older than me and with whom I chat, but mostly surface-level discussion. I don’t see many more people at work, apart from my boss sometimes, but he is much older.
Rest of the time I spend in my small apartment. I don’t go out much, no bars (no alcohol) , no parties, nothing really, apart from the grocery store and cinema or jogging occasionally. I don’t talk to a lot of people aswell (no one really) , since I have very few friends and they live far away. For example, I text regularly 2 friends and do 1 DnD session per \~10 days with a group (would not say DnD is a hobby of mine, but it is nice) .
A major hobby of mine is esports though. I am active on a dedicated discord, following the scene, but it does not go any further than that : no live events or even talking to other members outside of it. I have this approach to everything Internet-related of being very detached and distant, keeping anonymity and avoiding any form of relationship.
So I am wondering how I could make new friends here. I am fine with staying inside and alone, as it is usually how I live, but it gets a bit lonely sometimes, and this lifestyle does not feel like getting anywhere.

Seems like this one guy you work with is your best bet. But it’s also a difficult situation to be in. Maybe get Bumble?
You should get Bumble, they have a friends section as well as the dating one. Hope this helps!
