I have a friend who Ive known for a year or so and I got to hang out at her place this week (giving her cat a gift). I hadn’t seen her in a couple of days and so I thought itd be cool to visit. She admittedly had things to do but I wasn’t aware when she was going to do them or if I had to announce so I sat there for a other 30 minutes. She asked me how long I wanted to stay, which I guess was code for her needing to leave. I apologized and told her I was happy to catch up with her is all (I also didn’t know how to announce my departure without sounding rude. She seemed tired and I didn’t want her to think that I was bothered by her).

She picked up conversation with me again and then I went on my way. I did thank her for inviting me. Waited a couple of days and sent her a job referral and a general TGIF message. Not much of a response.

So it got me wondering if I was being overbearing. She’s reassured me before I haven’t been a bother and we usually hang out soon afterwards.

I’m just happy to have a friend who I can relate to on a fundamental level and I want it to last for a long time. Especially since I dont mesh well with others. But I don’t wanna drive her away either. Not sure how to convey that or what I should do.
