In my country (Aus), almost every young male has a modern mullet. I was wondering if this is a trend in the US at the moment too?

  1. You know, I do feel like I’ve been seeing a lot of college age Gen Z guys with either mullets or just the 1970s shag hair

Which 10/10. Love to see it

  2. I had one when I went to a festival in Spain.

A few people thought I was Australian before they heard me speak. It was probably because of that and the jorts I was wearing

  3. They were out of style for a few decades but they’re unfortunately making a bit of a comeback

They look as fucking stupid as they did in the 80s

  4. Yes, I see it a lot.

Modern mullets are, imo, a lot better than 80s mullets. Mullet on its own is just a little extra length on the back attached to a normal haircut.

80s mullets were excessively long, and attached to already ridiculous hairstyles with lots of feathering or extremely short haircuts in the front.

It’s the difference between a tasteful little spoiler on the back of a Porsche and a huge spoiler on the back of a bright orange Mitsubishi Eclipse.

  5. Yea but they’re a lot cooler looking than the ones people were wearing in the 80s. And mostly worn with a backwards hat with curly hair flowing out the back. If you have straight hair and mullet cut that bullshit off
