How much does an avocado cost around your area?

  1. $1.25 on sale the last time I bought one. Naturally, I didn’t eat it and it’s still sitting my cupboard just waiting for me to throw it away. I have high aspirations when I buy them that never come to fruition.

  2. I just bought two very large ones yesterday (in Oregon) for, I believe, $2 each. I think the smaller ones are $1.

  3. Depends on the store. Singles $1-1.50. But for some reason the 4 pack remains $3 despite singles increasing in price.

  4. They’ve gotten expensive. I just bought a few haas avocados for $1.10 each, and that was the best price I’ve seen since 2019. Regular price is like $3/avo.

In 2019, it was 33 cents for the little golf ball sized ones. I haven’t seen them at ALL since 2019. And a haas went on sale when they were in season for like 50 cents. Out of season they were maybe $1 but I only bought in season.

  5. At the expensive grocery store, it’s $2.50 for a large one when not on sale. Costco has a 5 pack for like $4 though.

  6. I’m assuming you are asking about Hass avocados? Because I can find Florida avocados really cheap. Those and mangoes I can usually buy from someone who just has excess. Even buying from my local produce market the Florida avocados are usually cheaper than a Hass avocado.

  7. $1.25 – $1.50 for the nice big ones they sell individually.

Bags of smaller ones are usually more like $0.75 – $1 each for 5 or 6.

  8. Depends on where I buy it. I paid $0.76 per large Hass avocado at Costco a couple of weeks ago ($4.59 for 6). They’re usually $1 or $1.25 in supermarkets.

  9. Here in Philly I can get them $1.50 or less if I shop around. I’m from SoCal though and there you can get them for free pretty easily because everyone has a friend of a friend who has a tree and way too many avocados to know what to do with.
