His charisma. He was just so … charming and funny! Completely infectious smile, and everyone seemed to look to him for approval after saying or doing something. He was 100% not my type and not someone I would ever pick but I noticed everyone noticing him and that made me pay more attention. Turns out he already had his eye on me.
The love of my life is the polar opposite of me in every way & idk what did it. I remember seeing him across the room and he just… was it. It was one of those cliche moments that felt like everyone else vanished and all I could focus on was him.
My husband was a gentleman and treated me respectfully when we met. He is kind, caring, and calm… and he knows how to cook.
It was at a festival, me and three friends were just walking around the camping, talking to random people, as you do.
We ended up with a group of guys and two of them were telling the others about a car they had built, for drag racing, from scratch. And this guy, he was like…all lit up.
There was this fucking _fire_ in his eyes, with pride and passion and downright joy about it.
Couldn’t take my eyes off him. It was absolutely mesmerising. Like a magnet.
I’ve met people with hobbies both before and after, but no one with that “fire” in them. It never became a “love of my life thing” because he didn’t find me attractive enough (much because I was a lot taller than him, and he wanted someone more classically “feminine”) but I still remember him fondly, and wish I could meet someone else like that.
But I’ve also noticed that these men are rare, and at my age they have been married for ages…
His personality, his humour and caring nature.
