Men of Reddit, what’s a good idea for an easy date?

  1. Art museums are my go to. But my favorite is a park and either get really good food or cook something. Bring a speaker and maybe a game like we’re not really strangers or even a card game.

  2. Go to a random event and people watch while getting coffee or whatever is your drink of choice. If things are going well, maybe suggest lunch/dinner or drinks. Karaoke can be a loose and fun environment if you’re into that sort of thing.

  3. Cook for her. Something to do, AND it’s a good way to show off your skills. (Really works best if you already know each other because a blind date isn’t going to want to go to some random person’s house.)

  4. Getting a hot drink and going on a walk on the seawall or a local park. Might want to choose a relatively populated area if it’s a first date though.

I’ve found dates go best when you have ample time to get to know one-another without much distractions.

  5. Make homemade pasta together. It’s easy it’s tactile and you get a warm meal out of it.

Not a first date idea, as this has you inviting one party to another’s house

  6. Just do what you’d normally do, but bring your date along with you. If you’re trying to be a little extra, think of something they might enjoy. A few I’ve done are wine & paint classes, a pottery class, a stained glass course. Can’t go wrong with top golf or mini golf. Places with live music are usually pretty fun. I’m taking a woman to a rage room for an anti-valentines date on the 14th.

  7. Lunch or dinner at my favorite Italian restaurant. I kid you not when I enter with my date the owner and waitresses call me by my first name. (Like Norm in Cheers.) It really makes my date smile and at the same makes her feel at ease.

  8. A bar with games. Bars are good for first dates because it’s cheap and low pressure. If things aren’t going well, you can leave at any time. If things are going well, then you can do stuff like okay pool or darts or whatever games they have, just getting up and moving around.

  9. If she’s easy, just take her home, cook something good, open a bottle of wine, and take her clothes off.

  10. Take them somewhere public with a casual scene (coffee shop, or a restaurant that’s nice but not super expensive), and bring a deck of cards. Find a game that you know that’s easy to do with two people and just chat and get to know each other. I personally find that the game “speed” is very helpful because it’s 1) fun, and 2) an easy gauge of how competitive and kind someone is at the same time lol but honestly finding an easy activity you two can chat and do together will make it a lot less awkward and a more memorable night.

  11. Bowling.

You can get food and drinks there. Gives you something to do/talk about if you’re having a hard time keeping the conversation going.

My wife and I went bowling a week ago and it cost us about $100 for food and drinks and a couple hours of entertainment.

  12. in general i like walk+talk dates.

there are several settings for this: park, mall, around an old downtown area, farmers market, around a restaurant we will eat at later, beach, hiking trail, botanical gardn

edit: gives visual prompts for discussion topics, plus the movement generally feels good and helps both feel relaxed.
