“Is it you, me, or ADHD?” was a helpful read for my partner.
Hahahah my mom gets mad because I start something then start something else the go back to the first thing
I’m lucky in that she’s way smarter than I am. But basically I just explained some of the stuff that’s hard for me and how I cope.
We use a chore board, menu and shared Google Calendar to help keep organized and it’s gone pretty well actually. We switch off on cooking and it’s nice to know roughly who cooks what on grocery day so there’s no surprises.
Don’t move my stuff
We’ve been together for 4.5 years and right at the start of our relationship I let her know I have been diagnosed at 12 years old with ADHD. So to explain it to her I said I sometimes do before i think, I’m very chaotic, I get caught in rambles when enthousiastic about a topic, and I’m messy but eventually always clean up. She understood. She’s a med student. So she kinda knows how to handle it. She isn’t bothered by it in anyway. To her I’m “so much more fun to be around”
My SO is a therapist.
She’s pretty understanding
