I have been going long distance with my girlfriend for 10 months (5 months left) and we had been dating for 6 months in person before that. My parents say the relationship is more on pause because we’re not together, so they don’t really consider our 1 year anniversary “real” because online (for new relationships) is a limbo in time. In person tests your ability to live and deal with someone while online doesn’t (their logic)
