So the other day I met a guy and he asked me out to get drinks together. It has been a while since I have dated anyone so I was a little unsure, but he was easy to talk to and I thought I should get to know him better. I think the date went pretty well, there were a few pauses in the conversation, but we seemed to have similar interests and moral values. Even though the date went pretty well afterwards I felt pretty weird and uncomfortable. He texted me afterwards saying he had a good time and that he wants to go out again, but now I am unsure of what to say. I can’t tell if I like him or not. I’m not sure if maybe we just don’t have chemistry or if I don’t know him well enough to be able to tell if we would be a good match or maybe I’m self-sabotaging this potential relationship out of fear or maybe I don’t like him romantically and am just scared of rejecting him. Does anyone have any advice on gaining clarity and how to express this to the guy I went out with.

  1. It’s normal for it to take a while for feelings to develop. I would give it at least 3 dates unless a major red flag comes up before then.
