My father is stage 4 cancer patient. His sister came to visit him with her husband. Both husband wife are problematic people. They were talking about things and they started talking about positivity, kids etc. His sister said “My son’s friend has become CEO of this company. He started with my son. If my son had not left the job he would also be at similar level. His friend makes 10 million a year. Tell me, is 800k per month salary not good enough? I have a lot of stress but I dont worry about it. My son left this job for another opprtunity. Why would I worry and give myself stress? Always be positive.”

My father is obviously facing some financial issues. So i dont know if it was appropriate to speak like that or it is only a natural conversation that you would have with your family on a sunday?

  1. Definitely inappropriate talk. Most people with cancer are going to struggle financially. It’s really inappropriate any time though. It sounds like she was trying to brag and flaunt the money without making it seem like she was actually trying to do that.
