How do you stop yourself from overthinking things that may not be true?

  1. There’s a quote from Star Wars that I chant everytime my anxious thoughts are coming: “be mindful of your thoughts, they betray you”

  2. I try to distract myself with good memories related to the topic. Ex: relationship insecurities? I try to think of times when I felt loved and special

  3. I redirect my thoughts to something more pleasant or challenge them and find evidence against the thought I’m having.
