What’s one thing you’ve learned that most people don’t know how to do?

  1. I learned to rebuild an engine. The first one was a Chevy small-block 305. Took about 3 months. The second was chevy 350, 4bolt main. Took about 6 months. The 3rd was a Chevy 400, high-output, and took about a month. The varying times were because of lack of money, lol. I could rebuild an engine in just a few days if I ran into no major problems and had the parts on hand. I put 50,000+ miles on each motor and the ran like new the whole time. I rebuilt them using an old Chiltons manual for reference. I did all that work simply to see if I could do it.

  2. Based on this sub, it seems like men don’t know how to show any emotion other than anger. They *do,* however, know how to blame everyone but themselves for this.

  3. Cook and clean. Genuinely I don’t know how some people have lived this long without learning to do them.

  4. Calculate the stability of a building … and make pokemon in a computer language

The first one is more useful but the second one is way more fun

  5. I had to learn by myself how to repair every singe thing that can be repaired and how to install things and zi always can find a way to do that even if I haven’t done that thing ever
and I learned how to read people body language and understand their struggle and why they behave that way (not all of them)
edit: i just realized it s ask men :))

  6. I’ve become pretty much immune to insults. Learned not to pay attention to anyone who hurls insults at me. They’re not worth my time or effort.

  7. I’ve learned to fix, maintain rebuild and replace just about anything that can be worked on with tools. I’m lucky enough to be able to look at something and generally can figure out how it works. Sometimes I consult YouTube or Google. Sometimes I can figure it out on my own.

My 2009 Chevy Malibu has almost 400k miles. If that’s any indication of how well I can fix and maintain things.

  8. Thinking maliciously. Thinking what’s the angle behind this question or this information?

  9. Pretty much all things related to financial hygiene. Many people don’t budget. Even more people will finance their “wants” (phones, gadgets, vacations, entertainment) and leave nothing for their needs (a reasonable economy-class vehicle, house, etc).
