Makeup is applied on your face? What the fuck
The materials, media, application, and canvas
If this is a question of art expression it would be mainly that you start with a clean canvas daily then wash it away.
as a trained illustrator and makeup artist:
From a technical point of view, the most important difference is hand placement and technique for straight lines/color application. The canvas size is different, and you normally don’t paint on 3D structures all that often. Materials used also differ and you have to keep heat activation/grease/layering/etc in mind. Painting through a mirror is also a challenge for your brain at first and something you definitely need to get used to, as is staying still and working with only one eye open.
Makeup is only a partial painting. I’m not painting a whole new face on my face, just filling in some areas that aren’t the right color.
I’m going with intelligence and common sense.
As in, if you honestly don’t see it you lack both.
