I am single and use OLD apps. I have a variety of photos on my profile including face & full body photos. I also have photos of me scuba diving, diving with sharks, playing golf, and snowboarding.

Every so often I have men match with me… And the first thing they send is: “you’re too adventurous – men don’t like that.”

So here is my question:

Do I change my profile? I want someone who will match my lifestyle, but I can barely get a decent match. Do I change it to be basic and provide that information later on? Not being myself seems counter productive.

Thank you!

  1. I wouldn’t change around your whole profile if you’re getting matches. Those guys sound more like they’re intimidated by you. Why else would a guy match with a girl and say that?

Us men aren’t hiveminds and want different things. Guys who don’t believe that should be ignored.

If you want someone to match your lifestyle, you need to show prospective dates your lifestyle.

    >I can barely get a decent match.

Unfortunately, because there aren’t a lot of ‘decent’ matches on OLD (or real life). But you can only wear one pair of pants at a time, so a ton of bad matches can be just as bad as very little.

  3. I wouldn’t change anything! If those are things you are interested in then you absolutely keep them up!

  4. The main problem they have is that they think your excursions are funded by past/present boyfriends, and that you’ll expect them to pay for it too. Make it clear that you make your own money.

  5. If every picture is you doing things like golfing, snowboarding or diving, then they probably think your lifestyle is exhausting. Especially if you have no pictures simply out getting a drink or something to eat.

    Balance is key.

  6. I’m betting those guys you matched with and spewed that nonsense wants a partner that will stay at home, cook, clean, and mother them while solely taking care of the children. Keep your profile as is, showcase genuinely who you are so the wrong kind of guys stay away
