Friend makes fun of me.

So basically I have this friend (J) that I’ve been cool with since middle school. Lately when I say something I feel like he’s condescending. When we are with another friend or two he does it.
But when we are alone he doesn’t do it.

So my friend group and I were hanging out on Friday (senior skip day) and may have partaken in the smoking of a little pot. And everyone was laughing at each other right. And at some point I just started messing around with my friend J.

He went quiet and shortly after decided to leave with our other friend. I didn’t think much about it, I thought he just got bored and wanted to leave. And later on I heard that I offended him with something I said.

And I’m like wow, when he’s making fun of me I don’t tell anyone else or cry about it. What should I do if he tries to make fun of me/ be condescending next time?
