My guy friend told me he was busy and would let me know when I could come over and I replied a week later saying this. I don’t read my messages every day which is why I didn’t reply until a week later.
“Oh, wow really? Mmm ok, let me know if you need anything.”

I mean, you made the guy wait a full week to respond. You clearly don’t value him or his time. Yes, you are in the wrong. If you don’t wanna check your messages from some reason that’s fine but don’t involve another person in it. It’s not fair to them.
