There are these 2 girls, for this post I’ll call them Kimberly and Evelyn. I’ve known Evelyn since 6th grade but this year (9th grade) she transferred to a different high school. Me and Kimberly met this summer online. I text both from time to time.
They’re both likable people who are nice. I have very few friends and I suck at talking to girls whether it’s IRL or over text. I want to know how I can interact with these two through messages and eventually form a friendship. If anyone has advice just comment under this.

My advice: treat them as humans. Check up on them every once in a while, talk about any interests you share with them, and spend effort in listening to their life stories while adding details from your own that you find relevant. Women usually bond by sharing common stories and life experiences, so finding experiences that you share in common tends to go a bit further with them than whether you share interests or not. They also appreciate feeling like they’re heard, so I try not to interrupt them when they’re in the middle of a thought and take their emotions into account. Other than that, don’t overthink it. Just be yourself!
