I was seeing somebody who on a physical level felt a great match to me. And I mean his height/weight. He’s over 6′, very broad and a heavy person but not fat or overly muscly. Well endowed. Rugby/swimmer body type basically.
When I sat on his knee I felt small. For the first time. I’m average height for a woman (5’3/4), and a little over weight. I’m a curvy girl (size 14 – 16).

Even when I was a lot slimmer (size 10/12) I still felt large, compared to my petite family members, and my first boyfriend. He is 5’8, about 11 – 12 stone, slight build with broad shoulders. Some people commented on how they thought I would be with a bigger man. A lady who my boyfriend back then worked with said to him that she thought he would date someone more petite than me. (Rude comments really, they’ve always stuck in my mind).

Then we broke up, I experienced somebody bigger and it felt ‘right’. I actually felt petite. Even though I know I still need to work on my shape, being with someone much larger made me feel good. Compared to hugging a smaller man. I also liked the height difference.
Is this a thing? Are people of similar builds/weight etc more compatible?

Tldr; feel better with a man that is bigger than me, is this normal?

  1. It’s just a physical attraction preference. There’s no need to consider it a problem or try to find out “why.” You just do.
