Context: I (F33) and a guy (M30) met on Tinder and we talked/videochatted and texted a lot for a while. We hit it off quite fast and he was genuinely interested (he told me) and thinks I am sweet and interesting. We planned to meet but COVID got in the way. I felt like we had a connection but when I initiated to find a new date to meet up he said he had a date with someone else and that he didn’t want to date multiple people – it simply made him feel bad but he would like to stay in contact.

I feel weird about being sad. Can someone please tell me it’s okay to feel hurt even if you never met? Cause I feel like I am beating myself up about my emotions.

  1. Yes girl, i had a breakdown over someone I never met. it’s very normal and you’re human. There is something called an emotional connection and also feeling hopeful you will be with this person eventually. I wouldn’t keep in contact and avoid being an option if things between him and the other person doesnt work out.
