This is the biggest killer for me trying to relate to others. As a 30 year old man, what are universal movies or epic moments in sports( specifically NBA and NFL) I should know about?

  1. Honestly your best bet is to try tuning your youtube algorithm to movie analysis videos. I watched one analysis on the new Avatar movie and my recommendations were filled with other analysis videos for recent or old releases. I don’t just sit and watch them all day, but if I keep seeing a movie pop up in my recommended, then I’ll skim through it to see what all the hype is about. Same principle for sports moments – football season’s going right now, so if you look up what some of the most important games this season are you’ll probably get a good grasp of what’s going on currently. From there, if you check the comments, there’re hoards of people talking about how this play reminds them of that play from the 80s, etc., and you can fill in the gaps.
