What line must be crossed for you to block or mute someone online?

  1. – racism
    – sexism
    – weird flirting
    – bad vibes
    – ignoring hints & continued messages
    – attempts to extract personal information
    – scams
    – ‘debate me’

Barrier is 4x lower for those I do not know irl.

  2. It honestly doesn’t take much. The best thing about online is being able to pick and choose what content I have to see. That goes for people too. You annoy me in some fashion and I’m blocking you so I don’t have to interact with you or your posts.

  3. If they know I have a partner and purposefully ask for nudes anyway encouraging me to cheat, I will completely disengage with them or even block.

  4. There’s not always line crossing as such – I block for asking sexual questions or for personal info after being told I won’t answer those; for demanding I justify in private something I said in public because they want to prove me wrong, and sometimes just for messaging ‘Hey’ when I’m feeling irritable or can’t be bothered working out if they’re looking for conversation or will immediately go to vulgar.

  5. Nowadays it doesn’t take much lol. The great thing about online is curating my content. If I have a back and forth conversation and it’s going nowhere and I’m annoyed I’ll just block you and go about my day hehe. I just don’t have the time to deal with stupid people.
