A video has been going around over the last week on twitter of a guy being accused of staring and being creepy at the gym. I can’t link the tweet bc of sub roles but the tweet was posted by @TheJoeySwoll on Twitter and was posted on 1/20 along with a video. It has 328k likes as of writing this post.

This tweet made me think. The man in this video made no sexual comments, no advances, nothing of the sort. Yet he STILL was called a creep, and to rub salt on the wound this woman posted the video on the internet to try and shame him.

I’m of the opinion that this man had absolutely no sexual motives at all when speaking to this woman. Yet he’s still a creepy dude.

It made me think, if just normal human interactions are deemed “creepy” at this point. Than how do people expect relationships to form.

I am not advocating for this guy hitting on a woman at the gym, I just find it interesting how him doing something that had nothing to do with sex still is deemed creepy.

Even if he did have sexual motivations. The man walked away after the brief interaction, he did absolutely nothing wrong but this woman still wants to flame him as an creep.

I understand that most women are not like this, but it seems a lot more common than it probably should be especially with younger people.

To women: I and the original tweet poster agree that men sexually harassing women in public, and the gym specifically is a problem. But doing shit like this just puts people down for no reason and makes us second guess a lot of thing even if the persons sex has nothing to do with the interact. When you wonder why that guy won’t talk to you, shit like this is why.

  1. I’ve seen that video and IMO it’s not really worth complaining about because she has already faced extreme backlash and he has been confirmed by the gym members and staff to be a good patron that everyone likes.

So basically she made a false accusation and she is paying the consequences, what more is there to say?
