2. The Shropshire hills are nice, and roughly halfway between. Try The Wrekin for a good view. Although it’s right at the very north of the range and so it’s closer to Manchester than Cardiff

3. Cannock Chase near the start, Malvern Hills near the end

   Exactly half way there’s Dudley Zoo – but it’s a bit pricy for a short visit. A cheaper option might be
