Famous or not.

  1. Well my grandpa had an open casket at his funeral.

I am guessing them kept him a little chilled, so he was probably a bit below room temperature at the time.

    It has to be him.

  2. Worked with this guy that did demo on construction. He legit did everything. Flew planes, panned for gold, scuba dived. He backed everything up with pictures so I knew he wasn’t lying. I could talk with that dude for hours

  3. Charles Barkley. He’s just a genuine cool and honest guy. Definitely near the top of my list of guys I’d like to have a beer with.

  4. My mother’s mate.

He got into gunfights with poachers in Africa, killed one of his assassins with a karate kick, went out drinking with the crown prince of Japan, published books on martial arts, sailed on whaling ships in Antarctica, shot two polar bears before eating them, received numerous death threats from the Yakuza, became a multi millionaire, bought and restored a forest, starred in whiskey commercials on TV, traveled to the arctic aged 17, published children’s books, presented nature documentaries, had the Prince of Wales come visit his house, made and sold his own brand of whiskey, set up a nature reserve in Ethiopia which became a UNESCO world heritage site, became half of a TV stand-up comedy team, built his own dojo and stocked it with weapons of dubious legality, was a pro wrestler, published several more books, gave a TED talk, cooked mountain bears for dinner, beat cancer, become a citizen of several countries, had one of his books turned into an anime movie, became a voice actor, gave speeches around the world, earned five black belts, wrote for national newspapers, produced albums of boozing songs, become famous, received an MBE from the Queen and starred in a TV commercial for the Mitsubishi Delica.

“I was really badly bullied at school when I was about 12. There was a clique of 16- and 17-year-olds who had a penchant for bullying younger boys, and I was a mouthy little shit so naturally they didn’t hold back. They garroted me with ropes, burned the end of my penis with cigarettes, stuck my head down the toilet, that kind of stuff. One day I couldn’t take any more so I stabbed one of them with a commando knife. I couldn’t use it very well, so he didn’t die and I didn’t go to borstal [a reformatory for young offenders].

However, I was sent to another school and I decided to enter the Sea Cadets. One of the things they taught us was jujitsu. Then I quickly got into judo, and that led to an interest in wrestling, and then karate. But there were no karate teachers in Britain at that time, so I decided I’d have to go to Japan.

I learned something through the martial arts that has proved very useful throughout the years: If you are bullied and you fight back with all you’ve got, the bullying stops.

When I was in Ethiopia I had to face armed poachers and bandits trespassing in the national park. On several occasions there were situations where it was him or me. Once I was attacked by two poachers with iron-tipped clubs. One of them died. I did a roundhouse kick, but I was wearing boots. I’m no tough guy, but I will never back down.

Here in Japan, too, in the squabbles I’ve had with the yakuza, I never back down. They’ve never actually acted, but they’ve threatened to kill me and my daughter — over the phone and during little confrontations at Tokyo Station.”

  5. I met one of the three guys who invented “Doom.” It was at a family reunion with my 2nd cousins, and we talked about history. I had no idea he was a game designer at the time. On the way home I asked my grandma about him. “Hey, I talked to this older guy. Kinda chubby with a beard and glasses. He was kinda weird, but I liked him. Super into history.”

She said “Oh, you must mean Cousin [Sandy](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandy_Petersen#:~:text=board%20in%202019.-,Personal%20life,They're%20just%20cartoons.) I think he designed some kind of game.”

Then I googled him and was floored.

  6. Snoop Dogg when I used to do security at Fox Studios he showed up and he was just chill with everyone and super nice.
