This is what I have surmised…
Initial angle of penetration. My frenulum is extremely sensitive. So, if let’s say we do doggy first, and it rubs my frenulum just the right way. I am done for. So, I try to make initial penetration with a position that does not do that. Say missionary. After that, we can switch to doggy or whatever and I am good to go for a really long time.
Also, if I masturbate say 1-2 hours before sex, I will still be too sensitive and won’t be able to last very long. But, if I masturbate say 4-6 hours before sex, that must align with my personal refractory period, and I will be able to last a really long time.
I understand where you are coming from. My wife and I like to do and try all different things during a typical session. So, lasting long is nice.
