(23M) I’m a dancer and it’s basically the center of my life. I cut off a couple friends I grew up and danced with because they were talking behind my back then accused me of being jealous of one of them. They started a whole smear campaign on me and now everybody else I know acts standoffish towards me too. Last time one guy I know just ignored my handshake, left me hanging and walked past me. This actually happened again before with another person at another event. I would love to go dance just to enjoy myself, but Is it worth it if I’m surrounded by people I know don’t like me?

  1. Thats really tough. Are they the only people coming to the event or will there be many others as well that dont hate you?

  2. That’s actually tough. I mean it’s judgmental of people who don’t know you. I’d like to say focus your energy on those who do, but pettiness & backstabbing is hurtful, who’s really jealous?? I learnt, I can’t like or be liked by everybody. To walk in a room & hold your head up is worth it for something you enjoy. It’s better than missing out and developing an avoidance complex. Don’t badmouth them yourself, as people will see through them eventually. Go dance op and don’t let them rent space in your head 😊

  3. F- those people.

    Go if you want to

Don’t go if you don’t want to

You have NOTHING to prove to ANYONE

If someone doesn’t like you, that is their problem, not yours.

So go shake that booty while the haters watch in envy or avoid those snobs and do something you really enjoy.

All in all – F- those people
