I’ve been on different sites just to try and find someone. Everytime I try to link with someone they either want to ghost me or just bang and go. I’m 26(m) so I know I have a long life ahead of me but can people really not think about anything else?

  1. Unfortunately yeah, pretty much. The typical relationship today consists of 1-3 months of nothing but casual dates and sex until then woman asks for a relationship. Just the way she goes.

  2. You’d be lucky if you get anyone to settle down and get in relationship nowadays, hookup culture is at its max.

  3. Which sites are you on? Dating apps are popular for people who aren’t really looking for anything serious, some are worse than others.

  4. No.

The inherent problem is that dating apps are scams in which messages / right swipes between “good matches” get blocked while messages / right swipes between “bad matches” go through. OLD sites can make guesstimates on who matches well based on a comprehensive rating system. An 8 woman with a 8 man would be a good match and messages will be blocked between the two. However, an 8 man can send a message to a 6 woman because they are bad matches because they are far from equal. The reason they do this is because long term relationships = significantly less repeat customers = significantly less profit, if any. And blocking good matches from communicating = more repeat customers, while allowing bad matches to communicate = fooling customers into believe it’s not a scam.

It seems like everyone just wants sex because the only dates anyone ever goes on through OLD sites (unless a few slip through the cracks) are between bad matches. And bad matches only end up resulting in short term relationships / sex.

There are guys out there that are certainly looking for more than sex (like me, for example). If you find them, though, you can’t communicate with them. Match Group and Bumble shareholders will make sure of it.
