“A Tale of Redwall: Redwall – Intro and Credits” on YouTube is my favourite piece of British instrumental music. I’m looking for more music of similar style/genre.
Go to any redwall episode on youtube and listen to the music when it’s showing the episode number. Usually at 1:00-1:30 of a 22 minute episode.
Edit: even though this song is Indian, the first 23 seconds has that quintessential medieval English vibe. “Ishq de fanniyar full audio” on YouTube.

The Rhubard and Custard theme music.
Elgar’s Enigma Variations, undoubtably the piece of classical music that I think of. Nimrod is probably the movement that most people will be familiar with.

Probably something by Julian Bream or Bert Jansch, but I couldn’t pick just one.
Aphex Twin – Avril 14th
Byrd’s mass for four voices is a classic. For more of a countryside vibe there’s a madrigal version of now is the month of maying that’s always good fun as well, especially given that it’s pretty clearly about sex and I’ve regularly sung it in churches
Does Dave Gilmore’s solo in the Pink Floyd song _Comfortably Numb_ count?
Levellers – 15 years.
Not sure how English it is, but “Concerning Hobbits” from the Lord of the Rings soundtrack is the most English thing to ever exist.
