What state do you think should be merged into one?

1. North and South Dakota. This is a no-brainer.

3. A lot of people in WV state capitol seem to think splitting was a mistake so they’d all probably agree

4. Alaska and washington. Sorry canada, looks like British Columbia is going to have to be caught in the crossfire on this one…

5. No states would agree to merge. They would lose out on two senators and maybe some Representatives. Not to mention electoral votes.

6. Alaska and Florida, then make the new capital Barrow.

7. Arkansas and Kansas. Just because of the names.

8. There does not need to be two Dakota’s.

   Yes I’m bitter over their vast over representation in national politics for being two of the least contributing states we have. 6 congressional votes spread over a population less than the city of LA.

11. Louisiana with Iowa, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota, with parts of Wyoming, Montana, Colorado Minnesota, Texas, and New Mexico.

    Louisianan irredentism. We want our former clay back.

13. You’re asking the wrong question. The question should be which states should split into two states. First up California.

16. Michigan + Michigan, glue those 2 chunks back together.

17. North Dakota and South Dakota should be merged and then subsequently split into East Dakota and West Dakota.

18. The original 13 colonies. They have all outlived their usefullness. Then everything else east of the Mississippi river should all be consolidated and called Ohio.

20. None. Last thing the country needs it’s for politicians to start gerrymandering states.

21. The opposite. Northern Virginia should secede from the rest of Virginia.

22. How about the Dakotas and Carolinas? But not the way you think. I’d like to merge North Dakota and North Carolina and South Dakota and South Carolina. Just to confuse people. They could rename to either North and South Carota or North and South Dakolina.

23. DC is not a state but people always say we should join MD, but id rather join WY.

24. If the Dakotas (ranked 46th and 47th in population) combined, they would move all the way up to 41st.
